UK Diary: London Diamond Jubilee Congress

The Crowne Plaza, Gatwick

To celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II e2e4.com are hosting a special one-off event at the Crowne Plaza Hotel at London Gatwick Airport over the double bank holiday weekend at the beginning of June.

There will be three sections:

a 9 round FIDE rated open at which GM and IM norms will be possible.
a 7 round FIDE rated Challengers, restricted to players rated below 2050 (or graded under 175 if unrated)
a 7 round FIDE rated Major is restricted to players rated below 1800 (or graded under 145 if unrated).

Please note, they have sold out of standard rooms but have managed to acquire 20 superior rooms. These cost an additional £10 per night and are available first-come first -served basis.
