Play in the main events begins on Monday morning and continues for a fortnight. Sixty-two players have so far entered for championship proper of whom seven are grandmasters (Jones, Howell, Gordon, Turner, Gormally, Conquest and Arkell) and six international masters (Hawkins, Houska, Palliser,Hanley and Rudd).
Eleven rounds await … time enough for reputations to be made and broken, blunders ignored and predictions shattered. And that’s just the Under Twelve’s.
