The lead is now being shared at the Chess Olympics in Turkey. In the Open section, the mighty Russia lost to the States. Leading scores with two rounds to go- China, Russia, Armenia and USA all 7.5/9; Ukraine 7 … also England 5.5 … Scotland 4.5 …Wales and Ireland both 4 … Jersey and Guernsey both 2.5. Another bad day for England, chopped-up by Vietnam: Le Quang Liem 1 M Adams; NTS Nguyen draw Short; VH Nguyen draw Howell; DH Nguyen draw N Pert. We face Uruguay tomorrow.
